Can Cook is a Liverpool-based social enterprise that hand-prepares chilled nursery meals from fresh ingredients at its production kitchen in Flintshire, delivering twice weekly by refrigerated vehicle to nurseries across Merseyside. Every meal arrives sealed with full allergen declarations in compliance with Natasha's Law, and the rotating seasonal menu includes daily meat or fish, vegetarian, and vegan options.
Can Cook began life at the Five Children and Families Trust Community Cafe in Speke, Liverpool, founded by Director Robbie Davison and Head Chef Tony Evans. The organisation grew into a social enterprise with over a decade of experience in school, nursery, and residential catering, and in 2019 moved all commercial production to a purpose-built kitchen in Flintshire under the trading name Well-Fed.
All nursery meals are hand-prepared by chefs using only fresh ingredients, entirely free from additives and preservatives. The seasonal menu rotates regularly and offers a meat or fish option alongside a vegetarian or vegan alternative each day, with both options designed to look similar so no child feels singled out for dietary reasons.
Chilled meals are delivered twice weekly in refrigerated vehicles, arriving ready for nursery staff to store in the fridge and reheat following the provided instructions. Every meal is sealed and labelled with a full list of allergens in compliance with Natasha's Law, and all kitchen staff are trained in allergen management.
The Well-Fed production kitchen in Flintshire holds an FSA hygiene rating of five. Can Cook also runs community cooking programmes and donates meals through its social mission — the commercial nursery catering arm directly funds this wider work.
